Program

Friday

Participants will arrive at different times throughout the evening. The evening will be used to settle in, relax, and get to know one another.

A hot meal will be served in the evening. We will be at the scout house from 18:30(CET). If you plan to arrive earlier, please let us know and we will make arrangements.

Saturday

On Saturday morning, the NP5K will begin. The competition includes the traditional disciplines:

  • Fire
  • Orienteering
  • Knots
  • First aid
  • Secret/handicraft task

Like last time in Norway, we will host a Leaders’ 5-kamp for the leaders from each participating country in the evening. Each country’s scouts are asked to prepare one task or challenge for the leaders. The task should:

  • Take no more than 10 minutes
  • Give a score between 0 and 20 points

The scouts from each country will be responsible for running their task during the competition.
Please send a description of the task to nordic@askimspeidergruppe.no by May 8th. We can assist with equipment if needed.

After dinner on Saturday, there will be a campfire. Scouts from neighboring groups and other scouts from Askim are also invited, giving them the opportunity to experience Nordic scouting cooperation and friendship.

Sunday – Norwegian National Day (May 17th)

On Sunday, we invite you to celebrate Norway’s National Day with us. After breakfast, you may join us to watch the children’s parade (Barnetoget), where schoolchildren march through the streets singing traditional songs. Some of our scouts will be carrying flags at the front of the parade.

At approximately 15:00 (CET), you are invited to join us in Borgertoget, a parade where local clubs and organizations take part. The parade (and NP5K) ends at around 16:00 (CET)

Between the parades, there will be activities at the scout house, as well as free time to explore Askim.
The winners of the competitions will be announced during lunch on Sunday.
The final meal will be a packed “lupper” for the journey home after Borgertoget.

There will be plenty of time throughout the weekend to socialize, reconnect with old friends, and make new ones.
